Margeret responded to this post after it was imported to Virb; she says:

Thank you, this is exactly what I needed to read this evening. I'd love to work as design consultant with a design/architect team again (as I've done many times) and yet those have been separate short-term mission trips and nothing gels in a more permanent way. I'm feeling held back at this point in my life, for whatever reason, which is frustrating. I have been talking with ArtsLink already, and I'll check out your other ideas. Bless you, and thanks for your encouragement here.

Agreed Paul. PRESS ON! As a mobilizer, I sometimes find that I experience a bit of frustration because of the lack of job descriptions. However, I think the added effort to really "negotiate" to a point of understanding pays the dividend of a better "fit" when you get to the new setting. I would guess that the couple who experienced frustration because they were in an ill-fitting situation didn't have much opportunity to negotiate. They probably read a great job description, and took it. I wonder if they would have gained a lot of benefit from more discussion and "negotiation" re: the situation they were joining... Would they have learned in advance that the current director was still planning to hang out for a while longer? ...enquiring minds want to know. :-)
